Merry Christmas Hud

Dear Huddy,

Merry Christmas! Hudson, I hope you know how proud I am of your decision to prepare for a mission and to serve. You put so much effort into making sure you were ready to go out and serve the Lord. That preparation will benefit you for the rest of your life.

I remember your patriarchal blessing so well. I remember the patriarch saying what a special understanding you will have of the Gospel. What an incredible gift from the Lord that is! I specifically remember him saying that your understanding of the Gospel will be so deep that there will be many who do not understand you.

Hudson, you have always had a tender heart and always have great concern for others. That is truly a blessing for those around you. It has been such an amazing blessing for our family and your brothers. I continually thank Heavenly Father for your concern for me. You may not know it, but your tenderness often has brought great comfort to my life. I recall so many times you were in your room at night and hearing you talk on the phone. When I would go in and ask who you were talking to, you would say, "Oh, I called so-and-so because they were on my mind." You have this special gift from Heavenly Father, and you have always been so good at listening to the Spirit and promptings of who needed special attention.

Hudson, you have a light that is contagious for others. They want to be around you. You have never had a lack of friends. From the time you were little, you have always had a group of kids following you. This is also a special gift. You have the power to influence others around you. Use this gift for good, be a friend, a comforter, and also use it to share the Gospel.

Hudson, I love you dearly. There are no words to adequately describe a mother's love for her child. I am so proud of you and have you always in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you will be able to find joy in the work you are doing and that you will have peace in your heart.

I finally got some pics, so I will be able to share some things about the people. 1. This is my boy Julio (he's jacked), we're dawgs even though I can't talk to him or understand him. Feliz Natividad!

CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hola!!! ¿Todo bien? This Christmas was definitely different, to say the least. Here they celebrate it really on the 24th. They stay up till midnight and then light fireworks when it turns the 25th, kinda like New Year's. We went to a recent convert's house named Jorge (he is the only one that wanted us). His house was fun; we talked (my comp) and then ate an asado. There were cockroaches everywhere in this house. During the night, one was crawling under my chair, and I freaked out. Then the cat and the dog came fighting for it. (The cat won.) When I was there, it was interesting to see how happy everyone was. There was no tree, no presents— all they had was dinner for Christmas. Yet they were happier than when Easton and Canon got their Xbox 360, happier than me when I got my hoverboard. All we really need in our life is Christ. If we focus on Him, we can be happier. When we follow Him, even though it's hard, we can be happier. Merry Christmas!!!

ONE MONTH DOWN

I just started week five, so that is crazy to me. One of the days, while playing ultimate frisbee, I ran into Elder Dains so bad that we both went flying, so that was pretty funny. Spanish is still really hard, but all I can do is try my best and pray. Overall, a good week. Another temple run—that is good. I have two weeks left here, and then I’m off. I am really excited and ready for it. We keep trying to get our teacher to bring us food from the outside world that we see so little of. He said that he would bring churros on the last day. That would be a miracle. Nothing crazy this week. Sorry for the boring email; I will try better next week.
