Dogs

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. This week was, ngl, one of the longest weeks of my life. We went to zone conference this week, and that was really fun to see some of my CCM friends.

Every day, we visit the members in this area, and tbh, I really don't know if we are supposed to or if we aren't. My comp keeps saying this is how we find people, but we haven't found anyone new since I have gotten here. When I got here, the house was so gross, and when I walked in, he said this is the cleanest it has ever been. There were gnats everywhere, and the guy before me told my comp, "Don't worry, they don't bite."

There are dogs, like, literally everywhere. I knew when I got called to a South American country that there would be dogs, but not this many. The dead dogs are the hardest to see. But when there is a dog fight, like 10 come out of the dust and start cheering on who they want to win.

Sadly, I can't have Google Photos anymore. Spanish still sucks, but I am still pressing forward!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT D&C 84:46-47
46 And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.
47 And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father.
I love this verse because it shows that EVERYONE that hearkens to the Spirit will come to God.

I finally got some pics, so I will be able to share some things about the people. 1. This is my boy Julio (he's jacked), we're dawgs even though I can't talk to him or understand him. Usually, I just try to ask him if he has worked out today. He's so funny though. Also, he has the best "Yes" I have heard here in Villa. Also, his dad is a former "Drug Lord"??? Feliz Natividad!

CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hola!!! ¿Todo bien? This Christmas was definitely different, to say the least. Here they celebrate it really on the 24th. They stay up till midnight and then light fireworks when it turns the 25th, kinda like New Year's. We went to a recent convert's house named Jorge (he is the only one that wanted us). His house was fun; we talked (my comp) and then ate an asado. There were cockroaches everywhere in this house. During the night, one was crawling under my chair, and I freaked out. Then the cat and the dog came fighting for it. (The cat won.) When I was there, it was interesting to see how happy everyone was. There was no tree, no presents— all they had was dinner for Christmas. Yet they were happier than when Easton and Canon got their Xbox 360, happier than me when I got my hoverboard. All we really need in our life is Christ. If we focus on Him, we can be happier. When we follow Him, even though it's hard, we can be happier. Merry Christmas!!!

ONE MONTH DOWN

I just started week five, so that is crazy to me. One of the days, while playing ultimate frisbee, I ran into Elder Dains so bad that we both went flying, so that was pretty funny. Spanish is still really hard, but all I can do is try my best and pray. Overall, a good week. Another temple run—that is good. I have two weeks left here, and then I’m off. I am really excited and ready for it. We keep trying to get our teacher to bring us food from the outside world that we see so little of. He said that he would bring churros on the last day. That would be a miracle. Nothing crazy this week. Sorry for the boring email; I will try better next week.
