FIRST WEEK

First week down, started out with saying bye to my family, which really, really sucked. But then met my district and flew to Mexico after a two-hour delay. Also got Comfort Plus, which was AWESOME!!!

But then I just watched General Conference, which felt like they were talking to me personally. I challenge everyone to watch or listen to General Conference because this one was bomb.

My district is cool and we get along pretty well, but I am excited to leave for Argentina already, though I still have some time left.

I went to the temple today, which was really cool, and it was nice to see how the temple works in a different country. The drive there was like an hour. It was so cool to finally see the outside world for a little bit. The people here are so poor but so happy (at least in the temple), so maybe it was just the temple. I tried my best to talk to the workers while waiting for my district, but it was more them speaking to me in their best English.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: When I was waiting for my companion to finish talking to his family, I was just watching everyone talking to their family and playing with my kendama. But it was so cool to see everyone going through the same things, missing their family, home, and just regular life in general. It made me realize that we all go through similar trials, and we need to realize that and help others no matter what we are going through because others are experiencing the same thing.

I finally got some pics, so I will be able to share some things about the people. 1. This is my boy Julio (he's jacked), we're dawgs even though I can't talk to him or understand him. Usually, I just try to ask him if he has worked out today. He's so funny though. Also, he has the best "Yes" I have heard here in Villa. Also, his dad is a former "Drug Lord"??? Feliz Natividad!

CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hola!!! ¿Todo bien? This Christmas was definitely different, to say the least. Here they celebrate it really on the 24th. They stay up till midnight and then light fireworks when it turns the 25th, kinda like New Year's. We went to a recent convert's house named Jorge (he is the only one that wanted us). His house was fun; we talked (my comp) and then ate an asado. There were cockroaches everywhere in this house. During the night, one was crawling under my chair, and I freaked out. Then the cat and the dog came fighting for it. (The cat won.) When I was there, it was interesting to see how happy everyone was. There was no tree, no presents— all they had was dinner for Christmas. Yet they were happier than when Easton and Canon got their Xbox 360, happier than me when I got my hoverboard. All we really need in our life is Christ. If we focus on Him, we can be happier. When we follow Him, even though it's hard, we can be happier. Merry Christmas!!!

ONE MONTH DOWN

I just started week five, so that is crazy to me. One of the days, while playing ultimate frisbee, I ran into Elder Dains so bad that we both went flying, so that was pretty funny. Spanish is still really hard, but all I can do is try my best and pray. Overall, a good week. Another temple run—that is good. I have two weeks left here, and then I’m off. I am really excited and ready for it. We keep trying to get our teacher to bring us food from the outside world that we see so little of. He said that he would bring churros on the last day. That would be a miracle. Nothing crazy this week. Sorry for the boring email; I will try better next week.
