A LOT!!!

Image
Hello everyone, it’s been a minute, I cannot lie. I don't remember my last email, but I was transferred! I really didn't think I was going to go, and then we looked that night, and I was. My comp said that the mission president told him that I was leaving, so it wasn't a surprise for him. I got transferred 30 minutes away from my last area, which is kinda funny. I was walking in the street one day, and someone called me and my comp over and said that she knew me from my old area. I had no clue who she was, but that was funny. My comp is from Colombia and has three months left on the mission, so it's kinda hard to get him to do comp study, but once we're out of the house, we are working well. My Spanish is improving, but still, there are times when I cannot tell a thing people are saying. I have to ask my comp to repeat it and say it slower so I can understand. SPIRITUAL MESSAGE This transfer has been good, learning a lot every day. Something I am learning is change....

Couple Weeks!

Image
Hello! Family & Friends, these past couple weeks have been frustrating and also so funny. We have a recent convert here. His name is Sergio. He is seriously one of the funniest people I have ever met. He is also the most dedicated convert we have. A lot of just committing people to church and them not showing up. Had a District P-day. It was really fun — a lot of spikeball and then eating an asado with a senior missionary couple. They are so nice and love the missionaries. They have the coolest conversion story! Had zone conference. It was good and got some good revelation for our area. It was also really good to see people from the MTC. Not much else has happened these past couple weeks, just working haha. Spiritual Thought: It is frustrating when our amigos don't come to church when they PROMISED they would come, but all I can do is keep inviting and sharing. Sometimes I wish I could force them there, but I can't unfortunately (it breaks mission rules, I checked). But it ...

New Year

Image
¡Hola! ¿Cómo anda? I don't know when my last email was, but I will try to keep it short. Christmas was definitely a little different. On the 24th, we just ate an asado, then fireworks when it hit 12. Spanish is rough, not gonna lie. Sometimes I feel that I can really understand people, and then I talk to someone else, and I can't at all. But that's alright—I just need to have faith. New comp: his name is Elder Moss. He's super nice, he's from Highland, and he has 15 months on the mission. He's also 21, but he is really patient with my Spanish and really good at teaching. Got a pic for everyone—don't worry. Sorry for the essay. These past couple of weeks were so hard but so fun. I want to speak Spanish so badly and share the great gift I have been given, but I just need to be patient. Whenever I get sad, discouraged, frustrated, homesick, or lonely, I think of our Savior Jesus Christ. I think that He went through what I am experiencing in that moment—that lon...

Feliz Natividad!

CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hola!!! ¿Todo bien? This Christmas was definitely different, to say the least. Here they celebrate it really on the 24th. They stay up till midnight and then light fireworks when it turns the 25th, kinda like New Year's. We went to a recent convert's house named Jorge (he is the only one that wanted us). His house was fun; we talked (my comp) and then ate an asado. There were cockroaches everywhere in this house. During the night, one was crawling under my chair, and I freaked out. Then the cat and the dog came fighting for it. (The cat won.) When I was there, it was interesting to see how happy everyone was. There was no tree, no presents— all they had was dinner for Christmas. Yet they were happier than when Easton and Canon got their Xbox 360, happier than me when I got my hoverboard. All we really need in our life is Christ. If we focus on Him, we can be happier. When we follow Him, even though it's hard, we can be happier. Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas Hud

Dear Huddy, Merry Christmas! Hudson, I hope you know how proud I am of your decision to prepare for a mission and to serve. You put so much effort into making sure you were ready to go out and serve the Lord. That preparation will benefit you for the rest of your life. I remember your patriarchal blessing so well. I remember the patriarch saying what a special understanding you will have of the Gospel. What an incredible gift from the Lord that is! I specifically remember him saying that your understanding of the Gospel will be so deep that there will be many who do not understand you. Hudson, you have always had a tender heart and always have great concern for others. That is truly a blessing for those around you. It has been such an amazing blessing for our family and your brothers. I continually thank Heavenly Father for your concern for me. You may not know it, but your tenderness often has brought great comfort to my life. I recall so many times you were in your room at night and ...

TRANSFERS

Image
HOLA!!! This week was tough, but it was good and had many things I can look at that were really good. Had our Christmas conference. It was good to see all the missionaries and to see my friends in the CCM. I am glad I had a good time. My comp was sick. I have never been so bored in my life while he was sick, so I was just trying to keep myself busy in the house (there is not much to do). Got a new comp! Transfers were this week, and my old trainer left, so I got a new one, and he is really good. Hoping that we can work hard and see some progress! This week I have been trying to comprehend how powerful and magnificent God is. Like, He answers every person's prayer and is trying to help EVERYONE. Sometimes we get caught up in our problems and our stuff that we don't realize that others have the same things going on. So, I have been trying to focus on others instead of myself and help the people. Love you, FAM!! Love you, Nana & Papa
